Initial postings

This is my initial posting.  I will add thoughts periodically.  My emphasis will be on contemporary events and my responses to them.  My first contains my thoughts on the Supreme Court decision involving the first amendment.  I support the decision without reservation.  We must protect our freedom of speech more than anything.  It has been said that the first amendment doesn't protect the speech we like, but that speech that we do not like.  There is no question that speech can hurt, and sometimes it is so mean spirited that it makes your blood boil.  But, we must cherish our free speech .  To those who think the decision was wrong, I only say that you should remember that the first amendment protects your right to speak as you see fit.     What is more despicable than spreading foul speech at the funeral of a fallen soldier.  What other country would protect it.  More later.
